Known as the seat of the soul, the third eye chakra or Ajna chakra (Sanskrit name) is the home of higher consciousness and healing power. Located at the center of the forehead, the third eye chakra allows us to see through the eye of the divine. It is the perception center, powering our intuitive ability. Whatever we see, we can be, as long as our minds are focused. When your third eye chakra is awakened, you have profound insights and knowledge of yourself and the divinity within self. You feel content and possess meaning and clarity in your life. When out of balance, you are skeptical of your own power and spiritual experience. Indigo, the third eye color, has the ability to absorb and filter energy.

Mindful Meditation

For Friday’s 10-minute third-eye chakra meditation, you will create a vision of purpose, something that you’d like to see happen for yourself. With your eyes closed, first focus on an indigo ball of energy, then visualize a typical day of your current life from the morning to bedtime. Where are you? What are you doing? Who is with you? How do you feel? In no more than 5 words, write down a description of what you see. Then, freely using your imagination, envision what you would like your life to look like. What are differences in your two visualizations? What do you need to do to make the idealized day a reality? Write down what you see and what you wish to be. Remember, whatever you believe about yourself, is true.

I see truth in all situations.
I trust my intuition & inner wisdom.
I accept my path.
I am healing in mind, body, and spirit.

You can recite any one or all of the affirmations at any point during your day. When you wake up, during lunch, or right before bed are the easiest.
